Today the Waters Edge Building Guests went home, there were some red faces as they boarded the Noble Eagle. We have seen some very nice warm sunny weather this past week and the forecast has more of the same. Light winds sunny skies! Salmon fishing slowed for us this week. Still seeing pink salmon, silvers were hard to find this week. My guess is the sunny weather is to blame, we need some rain to get the streams flowing fresh water into Cross Sound. Hopefully this next

Three Hill!!! Three Hill is now the place to go Coho fishing! Things have changed, not so sunny warm weather more fog and rain, and the Silvers/Coho are at Three Hill! 2 miles away from Elfin Cove! Halibut was a bit slower this week, but honestly it was really hot and going crazy there for a couple weeks so it was bound to slow down at some point. Salmon Sharks are being seen out in Cross Sound, we had one take half of a salmon this week. Dipsy divers were working good

What a great stretch of weather we are experiencing!!!! Yesterday we had a few showers but still an amazing weather day. The day before it was very sunny and almost hot. Hot to us here in Elfin Cove is 80 degrees so 60 feels really good. Calm winds have been the norm for the past week or more. Very good open ocean conditions. Salmon report is great, the only thing we are waiting for is the big schools to hit Three Hill we are still having to go down to Yakobi Rock and th

July is really going by fast. We are seeing pretty good weather so far, very little rain, and calm seas for the most part. Pink Salmon have slowed, if this continues it will be a slow year for pinks. Still seeing Chums on the dock and Silvers are starting to really pick up. They are still mainly down the coast. Soapstone was a hot spot and Yakobi Rock. I heard 30 - 60 feet seemed to be the most productive. They are also getting bigger, starting to see some bellies on t

Wow what a fireworks display we had here in Elfin Cove! 100% the fault of Matt C. From Juneau!! He ordered them and hauled them out here and lit the fuses for us! It was amazing to celebrate our Country and see that many fireworks go off! We are truly blessed to live in the country we live in feeling very grateful. Weather has been good and bad, we had several days of rough open water conditions followed by very flat calm water for several days. King Salmon are slowing do

When is the best time to fish in Alaska?? We always get asked this question. I always struggle with an answer cause sometimes it is late August other times it is June. Today my answer is right now!!! Fishing is really good right now. King Salmon are doing really good, silvers are here also, halibut seem really hungry right now and they are big. Weather has been great the past few days. Great time to be in Elfin Cove!! I love this place! Kelly

June 16th Update
I love June! King salmon are in and doing great. They are all coming from down the coast past Yakobi Rock, does not seem to matter what you use they seem to be hitting on everything, I have heard reports of 100’ down and some were caught on a dispy diver. We are also seeing Pink salmon and Silver salmon on the dock. Kurt reported yesterday out in the middle of Cross Sound he saw thousands of salmon on the surface. We also had a big pod of Humpback Whales bubble feeding i

What a difference a little warm weather makes. Today it must be 60-65 and tomorrow is forecasted for 71 degrees!! We are all very excited! Been a wet cold spring, ready for some sunshine. In about a 1/2 hour our first guests will arrive for the start of the 2026 season. We are ready! I wish you could all experience the change that takes place, we have been working very hard getting ready, boats buildings, groceries, training new staff. Lots of preparation in getting re

May 24th Update
May has had a few nice days, but for the most part it has felt more wet and cold than normal to me. We are one week away from our first guests arriving. We are now moving into more training for new crew. The boats for the most part are ready to go. I am always amazed at the excitement the new crew brings with them. Alaska is amazing and it seems to live up to whatever we think it is supposed to be like. This year we interviewed almost 90 potential crew members. It is al
