July 30 2021 Halibut Patience! What is the one thing that keeps showing up when it comes to someone catching big halibut and lots of halibut? The sharpness of their hooks? Maybe? July 28 Fishing Update The weather is such a factor in fishing. I am again sitting here at my office window looking at a beautiful blue sky day. July 23 2021 Update
July 23rd Fishing Report This has to be the peak of the Pink Salmon for the summer. They are everywhere. Lots and lots of pinks salmon. Most of the guests this week are fishing primarily for Halibut. We have had some silver caught but for the most part many of the guests are fishing for salmon to get bait for halibut fishing. Halibut fishing is really good right now! July 18th Fishing Update When the Ocean goes calm it is an amazing sight to behold and experience. We woke today to another very nice calm day. July 15th Update
July 15th Fishing Update Pinks seem to be everywhere, Silvers have slowed down, we are catching a few but nothing like 2 weeks ago. Halibut have slowed also but still catching some nice ones. Now just a reminder that the fishermen are the other factor in our equation that change each week. We had many that stayed for early bird breakfast this week. July 8th Fishing Update
July 8 2022 Happy 4th of July to everyone! We had a great Independence Day here in Elfin Cove. We started off with the parade which went from Shoreline to down town Elfin Cove and around to the General Store and then ended up at the Memorial for the Pledge of Allegiance. We then had the Humpy Head Bobbing Contest, and the fish toss, and then our evening festivities were the greased pole contest on the float plane dock. Eagle Charters lit up the cove with fireworks! July 1 Fishing Update The freezers are officially full! The Mossy Ridge Lodge has done great this week. Lots of King Salmon Limits and lots of halibut! Kings are still going crazy down the coast. Chris and his crew said they got down there one day and had there Kings in 15 minutes. They said as they lowered the gear on the down rigger they would hit it on the way down. Pretty amazing to have the King fishing that good! Silvers slowed a bit this week. Pinks seem to pick up tho
