Sound of rain is wonderful.  We have had about three days now of pretty steady rain at night and showers in the daytime.  Wind for the most part has been good the past week, we had a good system move thru and chased out the high pressure that was stuck here, but since then the winds have been getting less and less.

Silvers are doing better the past few days.  It seems to have turned into what we have seen in the past at Three Hill, when the bite comes on you will get your limit if you miss the bite it can be very slow.  I know?? When or what time does the bite come on?  One day it was early another day it was in the afternoon.  Usually an incoming tide is the key.  Depths were all over the place some as low as 100’ and we had several reports of coho hitting the bait as the line was being attached to the down rigger clip.  The ones that are coming in are big, seen some really nice ones the past couple of days.

Halibut was ok, I would say about average.  114 lbs was the biggest this past week.

This past week we lost one of our heroes.  Rob Staker passed away.  We will miss him!  Rob and Sheila helped us get started, Shelia cooked and Rob helped vacuum seal fish and carpentry work.  Our second year I will never forget we were trying to makes ends meet and Rob each week would come to us and give us his tips for the week, we used the tips to buy fuel for the next week and somehow made it thru our 2nd season in Elfin Cove.  We will be forever grateful to both of them!
