June 22nd Fishing Update

If last week is any indication as to what our summer fishing is going to be like it is going to be an above average year.

Weather last week was a bit on the windy and wet side, we had some 20 kt winds two different days, and we had rain off and on most of the week. FYI - this is where I go for weather forecasts in our area -

Cross Sound =

Icy Strait =

Rain Forecast and temps =

Cape Spencer wind speed =

King Salmon fishing has been exceptional. 33” fish seem to be the ones coming in so no big ones but nice fish. Best place seems to be down the coast. Hoochies and spoons seem to work the best, about 100’ down on the down rigger.

Halibut was again very strong this week, we had many limits of halibut.

The airport was again very smooth for all of the guests arriving. Some took the test at the airport. It is still preferred and best to have the proof of negative test in your hand and have your declaration filled out. Your end destination is Elfin Cove as you go through the process.

FYI - Email we got from Bill - Covid testing at the Walgreen drive thru site in Tacoma, so, the Western WA. clients could go there for their covid report. It is free. results within 2 hours on line. need to download app for Walgreens to make it happen. unfortunately that location (Pearl St. Tacoma) was the only one which we could locate that actually does the testing in the Puget sound area. see u Sunday Bill

Mary and I have been shifting out of the way more and more. We have Lodge Managers this year, and they are doing great. Kaela = Shoreline Building, Jeremy & Breanna = Mossy Ridge & Nikoli = Waters Edge Building. They are doing great. Fun to see them grow and take on new responsibility.
