The big story this week is again the Silver/Coho Salmon. We have seen a few trickle in, but nothing like normal. The big schools of silvers have not hit the coast yet. Last year we saw them in late June. Pink salmon were alot better the last couple days we are starting to see jumpers now, but pinks are also below average for this time of year.
Halibut is going great for bigger halibut but not seeing lots of halibut right now. I would say from my opinion is that halibut the last couple weeks have been slower then normal. The tidal currents have been slower this past week, maybe that is why the drop in halibut catch. Pink salmon still seem to be the preferred bait for halibut.
Yesterday we saw one of the nicest days of the year, calm water and sunny weather. Today we are back to rain, forecast for the next few days looks like rain also. Rain I am ok with as long as the wind is low. Here are the links I look at for rain and wind.
